Islah entrusts an al-Qaeda leader to lead his forces in Marib

An intelligence source in Ma’rib province northeast of capital Sana’a stated to a wide military activity for al-Qaida leader and the member of Islah party –Yemen’s brotherhood- Khaled Mabkhout Al-Arada.

The source indicated that Al-Arada is working to form an extremist reserve force, in the pretext of defending on Ma’rib province. As he also worked during the recent days, to enhance Isalh party on the front lines of Hailan, with special ideological forces and logistical support.
Khaled Al-Arada’s activity came in conjunction with the intense activity of Abu Hassan al-Ma’ribi, who is supported by Saudi Arabia, to be the leader of al-Qaeda, as successor of Qasim al-Rimi. Likewise, UAE pushing to the extremist Wahhabi Sheikh Yahya Al-Hajouri in order to control the southern areas of Marib Governorate.
In 2017, the US Treasure ministry imposed sanctions on Khaled al-Arada.
A statement issued by the ministry at that time said that Al-Arada “is a senior official of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula in Yemen, and is one of the leaders who received cash payments from the organization in exchange for logistical support”.
